    Butler

bad news. they are pretty good. they beat xavier on the road as badly as we lost to them at home.

good news. they do not have size. their frontcourt is 6'7 and 6'8 without beef. they are inexperience and are no deeper than lsu.

I do not see Miss St. having a good chance to beat Washington. Wash has been on a tear over the last 2 months and the 4 seed for a reason. Watch out for Purdue as well in their region.

Wash & Purdue > Butler & UNC IMO

i wouldnt be surprised if they dropped lsu a seed to put them in the S. i think theyd like to at least be able to say they threw the sec a bone, but there were no 1st rd sites close enough to matter. and its not worth the drop in seed since it puts you playing a one in the 2nd rd. man o man a 6 seed wouldve been perfect because youd have a decent chance of having the top seed in your half of the region being upset.

Let's just play the thing and see how we do. This is the national championship tournament, not the easiest route to the next round tournament.

Tiger yes actually they do. They play in a better conference they closed better they have a better rpi. UT earned that seed LSU earned ours. Now lets stop crying and go pull the tigers on to the win on Thursday!

I'm not saying UNC isn't tougher than Butler, I just think LSU will have a tougher time dealing with a team like Butler. They are very patient and run the offense until the defense breaks and I think LSU has had a problems with our D not playing the full shot clock. If we get down early to Butler, it could be difficult to get back.

If the question is who LSU could beat, UNC or Butler, butler definately, but i can see Butler making our guys frustrated. However with UNC, I can seriously see LSU conceding points by Hansborough and concentrating on shutting down everybody else. Kind of like the UK game in the regular season.

    Think of this way...

These teams are better than EVERYONE in the SEC (according to the NCAA):

6th team in the ACC, Boston College
4th team in the Big Ten, Ohio State (also an 8-seed)
4th team in the Pac-10, Cal
6th team in the Big 12, Texas
7th team in the Big East, WV

Lack of media respect for the SEC hurt for sure...and the monkey butt love for the Big East is unwarrented I think but that's what others complain about during football season about the SEC. I guess we'll see how this goes but I'd like to see a bunch of 1's go down this weekend.

Sorry but you are going to have to have more factual, coherent points to be convincing around here.

How is losing 3 of their last 6 closing stronger than LSU? And while I will agree with you that the SEC is not a dominant basketball conference this year, I don't believe we are light years behind every other major conference. Berge points out in his post how silly the NCAA set things up. I point out Texas since I am bombarded with orange love here daily.

But nothing we can do about it, we gotta play Butler and hopefully UNC.
