I find The Sporting News has a serious Cybil complex. Where the heck are they coming from now? Didn't St. Urban satisfy their needs? Nasty comment about Saban and psyche, too.
Perhaps I should start a separate thread...nah, I'll just hijack this one instead. Am I the only one who finds this interesting? Say, three months ago, if you came in here talking about how this was a Top 5 talent team and should be regarded as a serious National Title contender, a small minority here would beat you up one side and down the other. Why? "Unrealistic expectations" for such unproven QBs. My favorite: "You're just the sort of fan that'll run Les Miles out of Baton Rouge", what with me and my "expectations" and all. (Note: All those unsolicited Les Miles defenders quieted down quickly when Les himself started talking publicly of his expectations, about winning and winning now, etc.) Anyway, nary a peep is heard these days when, one prognosticator after another after another takes their first cold, hard look at these Tigers...and likes the hell out of what they see. Matt Hayes, you weenie! You're gonna make our new coach feel insecure and all, what with all this pressure. Shame on you! You're gonna make him pack his stuff and hit the road if you keep this up.
Bingo! Weenie Matt Hayes probably picked up Phil Steele's in the airport and suddenly realize how stupid he loo... whay he's always looked stupid! When TSN move from a super focus on baseball to football, it's coverage went with it. It's a rag on so many fronts and editorial decisions are based on advertizing bucks. If Boudreaux's Butt Paste started placing big buck ads in the weekly, John Brady would be next Wizard of Westwood!
