Maybe we are a bunch of unappreciative fans that do not know a good thing when we see it. We boo'd a team in the first home game after winning a national championship because we expected more. We bitched all season because of poor offensive play calling and inconsistancies on the offensive side of the ball. We curse Saban for jumping to the NFL, being niave enough to actually believe he would stay at LSU forever and for calling him out on leaving instead of appluading what he accomplished here.

And now we sit here for the last week bad mouthing and torching presective coaching replacements such as Bobby Petrino and Les Miles, saying we deserve something more like a Stoops or Carroll. Honestly people, would Stoops and Carroll satisfy your appetites? Would you not boo and chastise them too the very first time something goes wrong or we lose?

Maybe we need to re-evaluate our positions as fans and be a little more grateful for what we have had the last 5 years, and all the promise the future seems to hold under any of the coaching candidates we know are currently being pursued.

National Championships are great, but lets face it, hard to come by every year. I want to be competative every year in the SEC and BCS. I want to be Top 10 every year with national exposure. I want LSU to be mentioned along with Michigan, Miami, Florida State, and Oklahoma (screw USC). I want other team's fans to hate us because we are so good.

time to unite people, and support whoever our new coach will be. He will need our support, as will the players.

    Who's with me?

Yea, people don't like to hear the truth about themselves so they attack the messenger. The players deserve more, Miles deserves more, and the University deserves more.

Brady deserves everything he gets though :) He's had time and has failed.

Great post. :thumb: I'm with you.
I also think once the emotions of the last two plus weeks wear off the vast majority of the true Tiger fans will be with you also.

I agree that LSU fans should not boo the Tigers in Tiger Stadium. BUT, many fans at the game are young and drunk, and they may not realize the harm.

    Still, the point remains.

Right on. I just ignore some of the negative people since a majority of the ones I know (not saying ALL of them) are people who jumped aboard the bandwagon during the Saban years. As a result they suffer from what some of the younger players on the team had to cope with -- they are only use to "easy" success, so don't know how to handled anything else.

    Some people are just spoiled...

I agree we do not need to scrape the bottom of the barrell, but I would hardly say Les Miles and Bobby Petrino are the bottom of the barrell. I would be much more upset with it if Jimbo got the gig.

Many of us are just anxious to move on and look ahead to the future. However, I hate the idea of Les Miles coaching at LSU in 2005. Not because I'm a bad fan, a bad guy, or a negative nelly - I simply don't want LSU to be a freaking one hit wonder. Nick Saban woke the sleeping giant, I'm terrified to think that the giant might get tucked back in and read a bed time story...

Les Miles finished one spot ahead of Baylor in the Big 12. We have laughed at Florida for years as they drilled Ron Zook into the ground - now I feel what they must have been feeling after Spurrier departed. Les Miles is a lame hire, plain and simple. I will support LSU reagrdless of who wears the headset next year, but Les Miles following Nick Saban is one step forward and two steps back. Les Miles is a one way ticket back to football mediocrity, a time machine back to 1998...

If Les Miles is in fact hired, strap on your snow skis because we're leaving the mountain. Flame all you want, insult and question my loyalty to LSU all you want, but I can call a spade a spade and I can certainly spotlight a bad business deal if I so desire. I didn't think LSU was in the market for mediocrity...

Les Miles - WOW - Dom Perignon to Bush Light in one day.
