No disrespect to Spectacular Bid, a great horse, but the title of greatest thoroughbred ever has to go to the big red one, Secretariat.
Bid was great - not as great as Secretariat, but great. He and Seattle Slew were my favorites as I was getting into the game. But my big question now is, who do you like in the 5th tomorrow at Belmont?
I believe that if Spectacular Bid hadn't stepped on that safety pin that the Man O War/Secretariat debate would be extended to include him. 28 victories out of 30 races... 3 time Eclipse Award winner... mighty impressive. Let's see... 5th race at Belmont... who's running?
