I don't know if this has already been posted. Here is the article about the meeting the AD had with the players and their reaction. Does anyone think that there will be a large amount of transfers over this situation? Also, would the players welcome Spurrier with open arms or would they view him as an NFL hack crawling back to his comfort zone?

It was posted last night but I doubt there will be transfers. Whenever a coach is fired you always see this kind of thing from the players but when it comes right down to it, few if any actually leave.

Its still a complete meltdown for the Gaydors though. Pretty funny watching Foley and company screw the pooch royally.

Like I said the other day, I had a hunch Spurt would be coming back even though a couple weeks ago I would have never believed it. Everything just seems to be falling into place for his return. Not sure how smart that is for FLorida but nevertheless, he will probably be back there unless something breaks down in his negotiations with the administration. You wanna talk about an implosion...that for sure would cause one.

I give Spurrier three years and then he's out again.

  4. Foley doent seem too smart to me, that guy has made a blunder of things from the time Steve left until now. I remember when Emmert fired Dinardo he said all year that he (Dinardo) would get all the support he needed from the top. When he did get rid of him it was right before the last game. That is better timing to me than whatever this is.

This kind of reaction by the players whenever their "coach" leaves or is fired is quite common.

Now, the AD and the Board of Supervisors need to have the guts to basically do what's right for the school and the program, not merely what the players themselves want.

Question: What happens when you go against your better judgement and let the players influence who you hire as new head coach?

    Answer: MIKE ARCHER happens

Foley is advertising early ... not as dumb a move as you might think

What's so good about the FLA job ... and what a Top coach can expect at FLA

#1 Ranked talent pool in America for recruiting ... only LA is even close at a far away #2 (Per Capita HS player totals that get a Div 1 scholly)

    #2 Good fan base support

    #3 Probably some good coin ... expect 2MM+ USD/year

FLA and Zook were done for 2004 ... Foley made a smart move here announcing early ... this wasn't a knee jerk

For coaching vacancies in 2005 ... FLA is top of everyone's list
We've already seen what a good Offensive coach with good defensive coaches can do with the talent there ...

If Spurrier does come back, it'll probably be with a BLANK CHECK

... to buy the best DC he can find along with a good staff

And Look Out ... they'll contend every year to win the SEC East ... right away
