Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll I saw the title and my first thought was... "Wow, that is pretty harsh for losing two games to Illinois." :hihi: But really, I never would have thought losing to two teams nowhere near the bubble (well, without the LSU win Auburn wasn't), this team would drop more than 5 spots.
Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll We have a baseball and football thingy to use in the thread title but nothing for basketball. I guess redoing the site during Brady's last few days was not good for the basketball followers.
Like I said last week, it's respect for this team. The SEC streak had to come to an end sometime. I think they just wrote it off as such. #6 seed. Perfect. You play the #3 seed (and I think we can beat any 3 seed they put up there) and then face the 2 seed. The #1 and #2 seed could be upset by the time we play them. Final four? Stay tuned.
Possible. Unlikely though. It's all about matchups. A 6-seed in the same region as a 3-seed Duke would be PERFECT for this team.
Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll We got lots of run for winning those 2 nationally televised games and lost 2 games to teams which weren't televised nationally and are on hot streaks to end the season. I firmly believe most people were waiting to see what LSU did in Rupp.
Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll I like the seed - I think it's fairly generous. Final Four will be a huge shocker. IMO, we're a very weak #6. Making it all the way to the Final Four is certainly possible if the right players are hot and healthy. But I'd rather put my money in a mason jar under the begonias...
Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll Wow. I just don't get that. You're watching some other team than I am this past season.
Re: # 16 in the USA/ESPN Poll A weak 6-seed means you think that this team is nowhere near Sweet Sixteen quality. Correct?
