the season is starting up and the boys will have a much different look this year. out are the days of throw it into the post and pray for a Glen Davis fadeaway miracle with 4 guys hanging on his jersey. they will get out and run and gun this year. Marcus Thornton is the guy you should pay to see. If you all consider Garrett Temple a good defender (which I imagine you all do), then go out and see Thornton play, because I can tell you from going to practice that no one on this roster, including Temple can stop him from scoring the ball. The starting five looks to be: PG Temple SG Thornton SF Martin PF Tasmin C Randolph Very small lineup, but very athletic. This team will be very Phoenix Suns-esque. Now whether it will translate into W's is another story, but at least they will play an exciting brand of ball.
Sucks that we lost out on Monroe, but still some good talent. I think everyone is kind of down on men's b-ball because of last season, but this team looks like a fun team to watch. Geaux Tigers!
Well I hope they play good & win often.... Its just that as each year go's by I have less & less confidence in Brady & his assistances. We seem to be recruiting more out of state than in state & each year we lose at least one or more really good players from Louisiana to other teams. Maybe its just me but something seems to be missing... Hope they suprise me.... :LSU231:
it's just a weird batch of guys. weird in that they are real, REAL big at the guard positions with all the guys being above 6'5, but they are real small in the paint. this year will be a true test for Brady, b/c the whole season will be about how well Brady can exploit matchups in his favor compared to how well he can deflect mismatches in the other team's favor.
I don't even recognize half of this year's team. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, though. It does seem like they have more depth than they have had in years prior. What's the offense type that they're switching to this year? I forget. Anyone else planning on going to the exhibition game on Thursday?
i'll be there. but as far as the offensive type, I am not good with BBall x's and o's, so I can't really tell you, but I do know the old offensive system is completely out the window. It's a real loose Princeton offense, I'd say. If I had to give a comparison, I'd say it's like the Sacramento Kings under Rick Adelman. A lot of cutting, a lot of movement, etc... If you all want to see a rough estimate, watch the Rockets offense for about 5 mins tonight on TNT. But that is all meaningless, b/c like I said, they want to fun 'n' gun it and they would like to get a lot of easy transition layups, etc...
QT IS out. and the hope is they can rebound by committee, Randolph, Chris Johnson, Tasmin, with Temple, Mason, etc... some of the bigger guards crashing to do their share, too. it's not a perfect solution by any means, but you have to play with the roster you have, I guess. Randolph is the real deal. He is worth the wait, too.
very unsettling. i think this means that lsu will have to play zone D, and that aint cjb's cup o T. the O should be a bit easier to handle with the roster with experience guards.
