I just got home from the LSU UGA game and all I can say is wow. Lane pitched an amazing 9 innings. He gave up two runs in the first, but never looked back.
Yep, what a great game he pitched after settling down. The Tigahs looked good all around and actually had more of us fans than I thought we would on a pretty cool night. I hope to be there on Sunday.
I got tickets to todays game but I just got called in to work. Same thing happened last year. This sucks but Geaux Tigahs!!!
Their atmosphere compares to any other SEC school. There were a few dozen fans actually tailgating. There were as many LSU fans as UGA fans. But in terms at atmosphere its The Box then waaaaaaaaaaaay behind is everyone else.
It's not even a close comparison, this is my second time going to UGA and they have decent baseball fans but nothing like LSU's. I guess it's similar to comparing Redsox fans to Dodger fans. Not much going on around the campus, no buzz, many fans come late and leave early. But their hardcore fans are good and great to meet and talk to. Many of the hardcore SEC fans know almost as much about LSU as they do their own teams, we definitely get one hell of a lot of respect.
I've only been today and yesterday, but I think their students are on spring break which didn't help the atmosphere.
