Looking at all the teams in the rankings, seems like we could say most of them if not all have played week schedules as all of the conferences are rather equal or overrated or whatever else you want to call them. This is a tough season to pick a top 20 in my opinion.
I agree with this. It's been an odd year, in that no conferences have looked all that good. Really, the only teams that have looked dominant are USC and UT, and THAT'S only been by the end of the games, for the most part. Without a playoff system, this is all smoke and mirrors for the most part anyway.
I really don't have that much of a problem with Miami being ranked ahead of 'Bama. After all, look at 'Bama's last 3 games: Beat Ole Miss with a last-second FG. Beat Tenn. 6-3 (via a UT fumble out the back of the endzone) Beat Miss. State 17-0 (where all 17 points were off turnovers and 1 TD came off a fumble recovery) Bama would jump back in front of Miami if they beat us--which I don't want to see happen. I would hope that 'Bama is ranked a whole lot lower than 4th this time next week (hopefully somewhere around 8th-10th)???
I've a feeling that after we beat Bama the voters are going jump off that wagon like they have a disease. They will drop back behind all of the one loss teams and have the good two loss teams ahead of them as well.
Because a double standard exists ....... a double standard that would diminish altogether if a playoff were implemented. :cuss:
Playoff anyone?? Please? How does 1AA get away with one?? Even Appalachian State at least knows who their champion is every year. 1 loss Miami ahead of unbeaten Alabama....2 loss ND ahead of 1 loss VT....Do we need any more evidence of personal agendas here???
The Sugar Bowl will pit the SEC champ versus the Big Least champ(W. Virginia). If things play out like they should(probably won't) you'll have USC/UT in the Rose, ND/Penn. St. in the Fiesta, Miami/Bama in the Orange & LSU/WVU in the Sugar. Those are the projections I've seen on a couple of different site. Remember the ACC champ goes to the Orange & the SEC champ goes to the Sugar.
