In the morning fish wrapper in Birmingham, Mike Price has sued Sports Illustrated for 20 million for slander. The lawsuit charges that Dan Yaeger defamed Price. His attorney sent SI a letter demanding a retraction but the magazine refused. The suit outlined 7 portions of the article about his episode that Price says were not true. They were as follows: That he immediately went to the strip club upon landing in Pensacola That he touched a dancer That he fondled a waitress in the club That he had sex with 2 women in his hotel room (too bad, I was impressed on that one) That a woman left his hotel room before he went to the golf tournament That he bought drinks for female students in Tuscaloosa and propositioned them That he was twice reprimanded by Mal Moore for "generally serving as the life of the party in too many bars" Sounds like the Price is right to get some money from SI. Stay tuned, next on the plate, the administration at Alabama.
The burden of proof here is on Price, so I look for some interesting reading in the coverage of this lawsuit.
I don't see where he has a lawsuit. Even if some of the details are wrong, things like going straight from the plane to the strip club or touching a stripper aren't as bad as some of the things he isn't denying.
You're right. Reminds me of Boudreaux wanting a divorce. Lawyer: Do you have grounds? Boudreaux: 40 acres on Bayou Lafourche. Lawyer: No, I mean, does she beat you up? Boudreaux: Hell no. She'll sleep until noon if I let her. Lawyer: You don't understand. Is she a big nagger? Boudreaux: No. She's a little white woman.
