    T. Harry Williams was a great teacher of history at LSU. His U.S. history class stopped after covering WWII. Some students thought he felt that our country reached its apex during that era.

We have a WWII-like leader in Coach Miles. Eisenhower had Patton and McArthur directing action in different theaters. Miles has similar support in our current Offensive and Defensive coordinators.

No "football equals combat" analogy intended; just that an observation that good leadership develops more good leaders. Depth of capable leadership creates a system, not a cult following.

Loved his biography of Huey Long. Exhaustive, informative, and entertaining!
Also have a US History textbook he co-authored!

hopefully his leadership will beget good leaders, cause then we'll have lots to choose from if he goes to Michigan and we want to promote from within.
