1. Not sure if this was posted, but I heard on the radio not too long ago that Miles had his press conference today, and they played some of his clips.

He sounded whiny and like a sore loser, saying that OT losses almost count as half a loss. For example, since triple overtime would lead to a tie (EDIT: years ago, triple overtime would've meant a tie), LSU losing to Kentucky and Arkansas in triple overtime should equal out to one loss.

When asked if there is a better team than LSU, he said to find one that hasn't lost in regulation (since LSU is undefeated in regulation), and they'll be better than LSU.

I like Miles as a man, but I was surprised that he was sitting there trying to justify a loss in OT as a half loss. Pretty sad. Anyone else think so?

I hope someone has the audio... maybe I misunderstood.

I listened to it on my lunch break and I didn't feel he was being a whiny loser at all. Yes he made mention of the overtime thing and being undefeated in regulation. But he also made sure to mention the good things that members of the team did, rather than throwing them under the bus like our former coach likes to do. He also made a point to give Arkansas props for being the better team on that day... I didn't see any of the presser as excuses actually.

Then again, one of my best friends got flat out mad at me while we were walking down the ramps for not being miserable when the game was over while he was... I remember how hard it was walking UP those ramps in the Hallman years...How spoiled we've become.

I don't even know why they call it a press conference.... There are never any real hard questions asked - such as why keep RP on the team if your not gonna use him, Why didn't LSU blitz on forth & 10 in the first overtime, There are a hundred others but you all have had them in your mind also I am sure.. He says nothing & now he is doing nothing... Gonna be a black saturday in Atlanta if He & Bo don't get their stuff together. I hate going into a championship game doubting the coaching staff... I wanted them to win sooooo bad. darn darn darn....
  4. Re: Miles Press Conference Comments

So we should only have 22 guys on the roster?
  5. Re: Miles Press Conference Comments

CLM seemed disappointed to me...not whiny. But who wouldn't be disappointed. Im sure he has been second guessing many decisions that he made since Saturday night being that we were one play away from being in the NCG on multiple occasions. Probably playing the "what if" game over and over again. I know I am.

Dang, and all Pete said was.......

Seriously, if he said that I'd be surprised if he doesn't make us the laughing stock of the Nation with that. "Undefeated in regulation"? Well, in that case, everyone is undefeated at the opening kickoff too. I wonder how many would be undefeated after the first quarter, or half, maybe?

I don't like the sound of that and instead of dwelling on last Friday, I'd hope he's more atuned to next Saturday cause to come up with that tells me he's really digging. If he ACTUALLY said the Ky and Arky loss should equal one loss, all I have to say is, Got dam juggernaut.

Did anybody have the balls to ask him if his staff watched the video of Auburn holding all of the Ar-Kansas runningbacks to under 100 yards? Or how does it feel to give up 800 yards rushing in 2 games with Ar-Kansas?

    What a tool.........2 Loss Les.

just listened to the podcast...here's a recap of the Arky game, not verbatim:

    opening statement
"Would you have liked it to end differently, tremendous effort, strong QB play, Flynn in our MVP on offense.

"Arkansas was executing on an unbelieveable level, great back, great scheme, can't give them enough credit. Highsmith was the MVP"

"Big improvement in special teams, punter did a good job of limiting returns, forced turnovers, Chad Jones is our special teams MVP, catching/covering punts, very happy with his development".

Told a family story...basically his kids were mad at him for losing, used the experience to focus on what he feels is important, character of the team, haven't been healthy all year, yet never gives up.

Perfect in regulation...no other team can say that...rationalized that two overtime losses should maybe equal one? thinks the best football is still to come. says it's a big achievement to do what they've done.

tennessee is very talented...ainge is tremendous, their front seven are physical. says he's thrilled to be in the position to play for the SEC title.

watching the games on sat. feels that lsu is still the best.

responding to a question about why the defense collapsed in the second half of the season
"in arky game, we didn't have the personnel to match them, they had us"
"in the SEC conference, it's a contest every week"

"Pellini did not travel anywhere this weekend"

on the 4th and 10 what happened?
"they held mcfadden back to block, kinda of surprised us, wish we had a different strategy for that play"

how does the defense improve to compete against Tenn?

"we're concerned, but we think we can put pressure and provide coverage, secondary wants to play this game"

is the BCS faulty for placing LSU behind VTech

"SEC conference championship should carry a lot of weight, talk about the system another time"

any conversations with Crowton about leaning towards a power running game, strip out the belles and whistles of the offense?

"i like what we're doing on offense, we have the flexibility to attack a team in many ways"

can the team rebound after a crushing loss?

"thinks the kids realize how important and rare this moment is" "watching SEC play, thinks season ticket prices should go up (but not for LSU!) b/c everyone plays very hard in this conference"

    another question about the blitz

"says their protection package dictated not blitzing, it was % call, best call for victory was not to blitz".
