Yesterday on CollegeGameDay on ESPN, they reported CLM would be accepting a month w/o pay as part of a cost saving measure by the University. Others are affected by this, too. I was surprised to not see a thread about this already. Has anyone else heard about this? Anyone know any more details?
my first reaction was wow. Thats about a $300,000 hit but of the almost $4 million Les makes, the university only pays him $300,000 a year. making it only 1/16 the amount. $25,000.
no doubt, i can see the headline already. "University of Alabama Head Football Coach, Barricaded In Office, Refusing to Relinquish Funds" - tax payers have to cover, putting thousands on the streets, due to repossession of single wide trailers. Players decide to help out community by giving half of their textbook selling profits.
wait a minute. seriously, isn't LSU's athletic department self-sufficient without ANY funding from the university?
that's what they want you to think. But in all seriousness, this is the nonissue of all nonissues. If he wants that $25,000, he can pick up a commercial or two in that week and make it all back.
yeah, it is a nonissue. but i still thought the athletic dept. makes a TON more money than they get from the school -- at least the academic part. but budgets, money, economy, taxes, politics... nah, i'm not too privy to all of that jibberish. it never much interested me in the least.
yes and this is a way they are managing the Athletic Dept funds. doesnt mean they are accepting/denying money elsewhere. just infers that its a part of the university. which it is.
