I am sure this question gets asked all the time, but we have 12 guys coming down to New Orleans from Minnesota for my brother's stag party. We want to experience some SEC football atmoshphere so we plan on trying to do some tailgating at the FL game. We have no clue what we are doing. We have 2 vans. Where should we try to park and do we have to buy a pass ahead of time? How bad will traffic be like 5 hours before the game? What stuff can we bring in (grills, booze, etc)? ANY advice anyone can provide would be much appreciated.
There are pros on this forum that will be glad to give you tips,as soon as they get back from tailgating at the game today. If the LSU/FL game has anywhere near the atmosphere of the VT game it will be something you will NEVER forget.:thumb:  :thumb:
It really depends on what your looking to see. There are different experiences all over campus. If you want to walk around and meet a bunch of people, I would say the Rv Lots If you want to set up your own spot I would say the Parade Grounds.
Thanks for the reply. With 12 of us it would be nice to have a home base so we can have somewhere to go back and "resupply", but we definitely want to walk around and meet people. We don't have much of any tailgating to speak of here in Minny (and not much football this year either) so we want to see it all. Can we carry coolers full of beer everywhere?
Just make sure you check back here, like someone said, they will all be back here after the game. But it might be tomorrow before they check in, some of them might have a hard time finding their computer right now.   By the way, welcome to the board.
Ok thats not bad, if you want to setup and base then I suggest the Parade Grounds. Reasons why: 1.) Lots of grass and area to setup 2.) EASY TO FIND (If you get lost and have to ask directions its easier to say, Which way to Parade Grounds? instead of Well there is this building where we parked but then we had to walk? 3.) Parking LOTS of Free Parking (getting there at noon will be a problem with finding a close spot) Personally I would suggest getting there as early as you can, so that you can enjoy the whole day.
Sure just make sure to bring the funnel with you. Honestly, not a single cop will say a word. It is pretty free around here so bring anything you like.
