1. After we lost Alley Broussard, I still hoped we would have a solid ground game this season. I was somewhat dissappointed. I thought Addai would step up, and he did at times, but I think his contribution was limited by his ankle injury. I thought Vincent and Carey would be quality backups to Addai, but they were marginal IMO.

We have some touted RB's we are redshirting. Why didn't we take the most developed one, and put him in the game?

One could say we were good enough to win out after Tenn. game, and that's true, but it sure was exciting (as in too close for comfort).

That's a move we could have made, but didn't. Anyone care to comment why, do you think we should have, or are there other moves we could have made but didn't?
  2. I think that the lack of a running game was do more to the OL under performing than the running backs. While I agree the injury to Addai hurt, no pun intended, okay maybe a little pun intended, Carey and Vincent are pretty good, but they have to have holes to run through. That being said, in this day and age you almost need two stud running backs, like Ally and Addai or Cadillac and Ronnie Brown who can run over defenders and also have enough speed and agility to be breakaway threats.:thumb:
  3. You beat me to it.
The lack of a consistent running game had very little to do with the quality of our RBs...IMHO.
  4. As mentioned, our Oline really hurt us.

Beyond that, Vincent & Carey are both decent RBs & we probably didn't have a true freshmen good enough to beat them out at the time.

Addai is a very good back & was working well for our ground game until his injury.
  5. I agree it is mostly on the line, but JV is a shell of his former self IMO. I watched Victory for LSU last week, and JV used to hit the hole with reckless abandon his freshman year. seems like now he is a step slower and more tentative when approaching the line of scrimmage.

    just my 2 cents
  6. I agree with you houtiger, I would have liked to have seen that running back from Winnfield play.(I think he is from Winnfield?)
Anyway, he is supposed to be better than the A-train.
  7. I have to go with most of the herd on this one, the O-line did not have a great season and there was limited running room no matter who had the ball. Of course playing D-lines the likes of Awbarn, Buma, Tanersee and Gawga tend to make you look worse than you are.
  8. One move I wish the team had considered would be to widen the goalpost by six inches :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
    j/k

Hope to see y'all here in Hotlanta tomorrow night. Safe travels. :thumb:
  9. I agree with those pointing to the O-line and not the running backs. ALL the running backs had problems running consistently. I hate to admit it, but Broussard's numbers may have also been down if he had played this season. I am trying to judge the time JR had to pass before the pocket collapsed or he had to scramble. So many bowl games I cannot remember. I do know our bubble screen sucked.
  10. I've always wondered why Skyler wasn't moved to RB, much in the mold of Reggie Bush. Not just this year, but since it was apparent that he's not the best route runner, but is electric with the ball in his hands.
