Can anyone tell me which running back this is? I haven't heard anything about how our RBs that redshirted this year have performed thus far in practice.

I remember him being highly recruited. Good to know that he has impressed in practice! I can't wait to see him on the field next season - we may be needing him.

Grad... I don't get it. We will (hopefully) have Broussard back as our starter next season. Then we have Vincent behind him. Don't you think we might need a 3rd string running back?

Historically, even going back to the Dinardo days, I believe we've been able to run the ball better and more consistently out of a 2 TE 1 RB set. I hate that FB shuffle/motion thing we've been doing before the snap this year.

JV has not impressed me this year, nor last. Something is different from his freshman year, could be his conditioning, his attitude, or the O-line, but he needs to fix what is missing if it is on his end (he can't fix the O-line).

I loved Alley his freshman and soph years, and hopefully he comes back as good as McGehee at Buffalo Bills did, ready to go in the SEC. But, his full return could be in 2 years. We will need to be ready with some other backs if JV and AB are not in top form.

The O-line will be a concern next year, as we try to replace 4 multiyear starters. Hopefully that will come along ok.

Question: If the problem was the O-line, why not try some of our touted underclassmen during the season just completed? Are the coaches honoring the upperclassmen too much, out of relationships or loyalty, and not looking for the best set of players on the field? (Don't get me wrong, I am not a Miles basher. Our running game looked subpar, and I am just talking about why that was, and what our options might have been. Benching a senior in the O-line may have been an option.).

The lack of a running game was due to opponents stacking the box with 8 players because they didn't respect our passing game. We have one of the best O-lines in the SEC and they blocked well enough on the run and protected the passer extremely well. Most of Russell's sacks were his fault for not stepping up into the pocket or not getting rid of the ball.

Broussard's loss, Addai's injury and Vincent's decline didn't help. But the main reason for LSU's lack of a running game is that Russell, Bowe, Davis, Green, Brazell, and Doucet did not make the defense pay for it when they stacked the box.

Well, I think that is more Jimbo and Miles' not making them pay. I am sure Russell would have gladly thrown the football more.
