1. Oklahoma State had a bowl game win over an sec team last year too, but i still wouldnt automatically say they are gonna go undefeated and play for the nc.
  2. So does that mean Boise St. is deserving of MNC game appearance after their bowl win last year?
  3. While I understand your points, neither of the teams mentioned are returning the backfield comparable to what WVU has...

Do they deserve a bid at one of the BCS bowls? Based on the way they played UGA, I can't say I'm firmly behind the notion of "no, they don't."

Mentioning Boise State...same scenario. In fact, beat OU.
  4. well, if we are gonna base this season on what teams did last year, why don't we just invite wvu and boise st to the nc game now and cancel the rest of the season?
  5. ;) C'mon now... I clearly see Rutgers and Louisville on there. You know they have great teams. Just ask anyone from the Big East.

  6. Good Lord.

Your own defense is rated as highly as it is based on what the players accomplished last year. Take WVU as example: I take it the same shouldn't be afforded to them?

UL, as example, beat a very good WF team who won the ACC. While you may choose to diminish what they've accomplished, those who matter in football and selections for bowls, votes, etc., don't.
  7. Georgia and W. Virginia's bowl game wasn't last year.

I've always laughed about the Big East's strength (Or lack of) too but anyone who believes that a Conference who finished one season with two teams in the top ten, has a team with a #3 preseason ranking, goes undefeated, and won't have an argument to play in an NC game......at all........is wrong. They have two teams from that conference in the top ten preseason AP poll as well so it'd be foolish to think it can't happen.

I know, as well as Terry, that the SEC schedules are tougher than the Big East but WV will be hyped to no end.......last year the media was talking about THREE Big East teams making an NC appearance, one at a time, of course; however, Rutgers, Louisville, and West Virginia were spoken of in the same breath as an NC contender......there were some here who felt the same as well.
  8. Even Florida, as it was finally pointed out to me after repeatedly asking, "Why so high"? :hihi: after losing 8 or 9 starters on their defense, would be projected so high. Answer..........cause of what they did last year.
  9. I know, and like you, I disagree with that ranking. But, like the voters, I understand the recruiting classes they've had the last few years.

What's different btwn UF and WVU? QB and RB returning...

Add to that I don't think Arkansas should be rated as high as they are...but again, it's based on last year and returning McFadden/Jones/Dick/Monk...
  10. I think she was making a dig at the OSU v Bama game last season...
