MSU looses kicker/punter to injury, QB & receivers underperformed but defense is OK, says Croom after last fall camp scrimmage. The link: http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070819/SPORTS030102/708190381/1079 Regarding the Dawgs' offense -----
State is a long way from the upper tier of the SEC, but it has improved under Croom. They ain't going to just roll over. They are going to play hard at home in a rare national TV apparance for them and I hope to get a good game from them. Better for LSU to convincingly beat a sound SEC team, than to blow away a pasty by 45 points.
State is not going to rollover but LSU should win convincingly. My fear is the pounding key players are going to take from them and possible injuries resulting from said pounding. We will need EVERY player in top form for the next game(not that I am looking ahead or anything like that).
I agree, it will be a hard fought game, very physical. Our defense will be younger, with many new faces (including junior college transfers), but will have more more speed than last year. Titus Brown, defensive end from Tuscaloosa, is the real thing. I think that both teams' offenses are going to take a beating over the four quarters, which is why I am predicting a fairly low scoring ballgame. Would not be suprised that turnovers are the key to victory. Should be a very good SEC ballgame to watch. I like defensive football, and believe this game will deliver same. Go Dawgs!
Expect two junior college players to start on defense (tackle & linebacker positions), with others in backup roles. Go Dawgs!
