Munsberger said last night on the USC/Nebraska broadcast that the AP poll, the most insignificant poll of them all would be out Sunday. I wonder why he didn't think it was insignificant in 2003 when they awarded the NC to his love, the Trojans? Makes me go, HHHUUUMMM.
One thing I will tell ya. LSU has played the toughest schedule so far. MSU is not as bad as people think, especially on defense. Va Tech may not be any good on offense, but their D is legit. MT is really the only cupcake we've played and I'm not even sure they can be considered a cupcake after what the numbers they hung on Louisville. Hopefully the BCS polls will reflect this when they're released, but I don't think they take SOS into consideration anymore do they? Where's Istsl?
Not as much of a Trojans supporter than a Big Ten supporter. The Big Ten is terrible this year and really don't deserve a top 10 team. Penn State, Michigan State and Ohio State are good but not great teams. And yesterday... Duke beat Northwestern Florida Atlantic beat Minnesota Iowa State beat Iowa Even Citadel played Wisconsin to a 21-21 tie at halftime. And then there is Michigan. If Michigan gets put back into the top 25 by virtue of beating Notre Dame, it will mean nothing more than media bias. Perhaps that would be why it might be insignificant.
The BCS does not have a separate SOS component anymore. However, every computer poll uses some sort of SOS, so it is still a factor. It's worth noting that margin of victory is not allowed to be used as a component in a computer formula. So how many points MTSU put up on Louisville is irrelevant, just the fact that they lost.
