Great to see you guys have an opportunity to kick off the season. If not my Tigers, my hope is that the players and fans of LSU have the opportunity to also close the season in the final game for the BCS championship. And bring home the prize that we are all hoping for at this early date. Though wins and defeats are the gauge by which the season will be measured, keep your vision focused on the battles that are yet to unfold. Exposed therein lies the mettle that we aspire to, the reason for our fervor, and the champions that we acclaim. Most of all I wish a season void of injury, the awakening of spirits reaching toward heretofore unobtainable levels of resolve, and teams that represent us in ways we can all be proud of.
