About four years ago I had the 'pleasure' of working for a rental car company in Laurel, MS. From our location we serviced the Laurel regional airport, where I picked up a few coaches in town doing some recruiting.

Not too far outside of Laurel there is a town named Taylorsville. There was a highly recruited offensive lineman that lived and played there (named Duckworth.) Ole Miss and Auburn's offensive coaches flew in a couple times to check this kid out.

After the O-line coaches from each school visited this kid, it was time for big Tommy Tuberville to come meet the kid and do his recruitment thang. After I picked up Coach Tuberville from the airport that day, we had about a ten minute ride from the airport back to our rental office. Along the way, Coach Tuberville decided to test my loyalty.

Because we were in Laurel, MS, Coach T asked me if I was an Ole Miss fan or a MS State fan. I smiled and replied, "Neither, Coach. I'm a Tiger fan." And at that moment a smile spread across his face. And it lightened the mood for his big offensive coaches sitting in the back. I let about 10 seconds go by quietly before I interjected. "Of course, that's the LSU Tigers I'm talking about, Coach."

I think the kid ended up going to Auburn and playing for Coach TT. And the kid must have been impressed that every coach who came to see him drove a bronze Cadillac Deville (my nicest car- which each school claimed they wanted!) But I'll never forget the look on TT's face when I caught him with a reverse!!

Ive also had the 'pleasure' up picking that slimy man and Pat Dye a couple of times. Of course since he had no choice but to ride with us the car was already decked out with LSU magnets and flags. :)

It was always funny because they were really quiet when we would pick them up but driving them home each time they were funny as hell because they had been drinking for 6 hours.

Bingo, that's what I was thinkin. Every time AU makes a recruiting visit, the car is covered in LSU decals. Better yet, custom P&G paint job for the caddy like the car at I-12 and Airline gas station, you know the one...:thumb:

Not sure what intersection the hotel was we'd stayed at for a softball tourn. but I saw this one next door and had to pull over and take a picture of it cause I liked it so much.

Not a great pic though, didn't come out too clear.

That's definitely Airline right there. But, they have a couple of other cars that are not limos that are painted purple and gold. They've moved the other two, though. I want to say that one of them is now near one of the Applebees (maybe even the one on Airline).

I've met him twice. the first time was in 2000 at the Alabama Tire Association shin dig in Gulf Shores. I asked him what he thought about Saban and he said he was a good guy.:hihi: He obviously didn't feel like talking to the only LSU fan in the building. I also met former Bama coach Mike Dubose. He was a nice guy and actually shook my hand unlike Tubby. That hand shake must have been the "kiss of death" for him because his career went to the pisser after that.

Second time I met Tubby was in 2005 at the game in TS. I was working the Auburn sideline. We didn't speak but he gave me the look of death when Bowe caught that ball off his knees and I couldn't help but cheer.

Hence the reason you should always keep a copy of the Tigerband CD....That would be just fabulous to pick em up and have the pre-game blowing their ears out! :hihi:
