people keep posting that miami wouldn't have made the offer if they didn't know saban wouldn't accept it. listening to all these maimi people give me the impression they are like the notre dame people in that they are soo full of themselves and the dolphins that they couldn't understand anyone not jumping at the job. i think that a lot has been going back and forth between them and saban but they are not meeting what he is asking for. the offer may just be their way of making him play his hand thinking that he says he wants a certain thing but if they make the offer he won't turn it down even though there are things that he wants not in it.

i keep hearing that he is getting all this and that but i haven't seen anything showing exactly whats in the offer so most of it is bs. its looking like the problems with the agreement are just what crawfish is getting his info from and is the reason he is saying saban is staying. he has been saying that there were problems and is the only one that was saying it and now it seems like it was right on. i also don't see how if saban turns this down that he won't have other nfl teams knocking on his door every year, some of the reasoning saying that they won't is just idiotic. it may just come down to miami being like notre dame and thinking they are gods gift to the nfl and not giving saban everything he wants thinking he'll take it anyway. if miami is all that why have they had such suck ass coaches in recent years?

If the rumors are true & he is being offered 5 Mill a year + control, then I don't see how he can turn it down. I truly believe he has grown to love L.S.U. but Miami has really made an offer that is almost impossible to refuse.

This isn't the 1970s. People now should only see the Dolphins for what they are: a team that finishes anywhere from the 6-10 to 10-6 range. If they make the playoffs, they lose in the first round. Csonka, Griese and Warfield haven't played in 25 years.

You do realize that this is Miami's 1st losing season since 1988?

You guys don't really think he's going to finish his career at LSU?

The damage is already done. He flirts with the NFL on an annual basis now. That in and of itself is going to hurt recruiting.

Sorry Dolphins. I guess it just seems that way. But it is rarely better than 10-6. Is it not?

That's as much as you know. If Nick's annual flirtation w/ the NFL hurts recruiting so much, then how is it we've had the top class in the nation 2 of the last 3 years?

If anything, it enhances Nick as a recruiter. I mean, who wants to play for a coach that NOBODY in the NFL would be interested in?

according to the news, Saban wants part ownership and a pension of a half mil for the rest of his life. Maybe that is the sticking point.
