1. USC 2. OU 3. LSU 4. Florida 5. Georgia 6. Missouri 7. Wisconsin 8. Texas 9. BYU 10. Penn State 11. Alabama 12. Texas Tech 13. Auburn 14. Wake Forest 15. South Florida I had a really difficult time between OU and LSU. LSU is now the team to beat in the SEC. Florida's offense is just not what they were last year. Their defense is decidedly better however.
Why USC #1, who have they defeated besides Ohio State at home? Georgia went out west and beat ASU, and South Carolina on the road. LSU beats Auburn on the road. Florida beat Tenn on the road. With that in mind I would go 1. LSU till we get beat, period 2. UGA 3. UF 4. USC 5. OU 6. UT 7. UM 8 BAMA 9 UW 10 BYU Just my opinion, but all this love for USC is a little bit too early for me.
Their special teams is huge right now (they have their version of Trindon, but he is capable of returning punts). They either get TDs out of it or great field position. Their running game is more balanced. But I am not that impressed with their passing game. LSU's defense could have a big day in Ben Hill Griffin.
Would you have ranked LSU way lower before we played Auburn? Even though Ohio State is overrated, it was pretty easy to see USC is a great team. As for Florida, they havent had to open up the playbook. They can move down the field with the best of them.
Unless we get some pressure on Tebow, him and the Gator receivers could light up our secondary like a Xmas tree.
No, I just have more justification to rank them 1. (also going with #1 till we lose theory because it happens to work in my favor) It is too early to say USC is GREAT. OU looked great all of 03 (remember the greatest offense ever, etc) untill they were exposed by Kstate. USC will be exposed at some point on the offensive line, and possibly in the secondary. Too early for ANYONE to be great. Agree with Florida.
1- Florida - total team speed great offense, and good speed on defense 2- USC - I just cant say they are #1 with their schedule..stop the run and you stop USC 3- OU Will Stoops finally coach his team to a title? Nah didnt think so either 4- LSU- Its LSU we'll find a way to make it happen 5- GEORGIA- OVERRATED!! 6- Mizzou- darkhorse, if they can play just a lil defense, they are dangerous 7- Texas- 3 potential teams in the top 10 from the big 12 8- Alabama - Saban has em rolling, that is until they meet LSU 9- BYU- 10- Ohio State- I know they got hammered by USC... but new QB could get them back on track. 11-Wisconsin 12-Penn State 13-Auburn- wasnt at all impressed with Todds arm but defense could carry them 14-Wake 15- South Florida LSU, OU, and Georgia are so close. If LSU can find a QB (which I think we did) its LSU OU has a great team but year in and year out , but they do not win the big game.Could it be ole Stoops?? If its Okies time , this is the year to finally do it. Georgias armour has been blemished, all that swagger and bravado can only get you so far.
You have obviously been taken in by the ESPN / CBS downplay machine.:rolleye33: Georgia's armor may get blemished along the way, but the current stats really aren't all that bad... Stafford has the highest rating in the SEC with 152.4 Moreno has 455 yards in 4 games, 9 TDs, and a 6.6 yard average. Green leads the SEC at the WR position. Georgia is averaging 450+ yards of offense a game. The Georgia's 1st string defense has given up a total of 31 points in 4 games. Three of those teams were bowl eligible in 2007 and two of those teams were played on the road. The only thing that Georgia has a real problem with is penalty yardage.
