1. 1. Florida
    2. Texas Tech
    3. Texas
    4. Penn State
    5. Oklahoma State
    6. Oklahoma
    7. USC
    8. Alabama
    9. Boise State
    10. Utah
    11. Ohio State
    12. Georgia
    13. Missouri
    14. TCU
    15. LSU

Texas Tech plays enough defense for me to put them at #2. Penn State's only big win was a lackluster offensive showing versus Ohio State. Texas is still a great team, they just ran out of gas (and luck).

    Prediction for the BCS championship:

    Florida 41, Penn State 13

Please pray for Penn State to get upset so we can avoid this utter humiliation of the Big 10 once again.
  2. I'm going to have to defend my team a lot more on here.

Penn State is NOT Ohio State. JoePa's bowl history and winning record...including that against the SEC should say enough, especially when one compares it to Jim Tressel and OSU.

Whereas it isn't a guarantee win in the NCG for PSU, it isn't a guaranteed loss either. We are not Ohio State.
  3. I am pulling for the only teams to be undefeated are Utah and Penn State - bye bye BCS.
  4. There is no way I could ever justify putting Florida above OU, Texas Tech, or Texas.

I don't care HOW well Florida is playing at the moment. I don't care how much they are beating good teams.

Florida lost to Ole Miss. 5-4 Ole Miss. If we are punishing USC for losing to a mediocre Oregon State, then we MUST do the same for Florida.
  5. If Florida plays anyone else on a neutral field, they win.

    That's my definition of a #1 team.

The Big 12 does not play enough defense. Florida would put up 50 on any of them. Florida's defense, however, would make enough stops.

USC would be higher but they looked pretty average against an unranked Arizona last week. Sanchez just isn't the QB they make him out to be.
  6. I know Florida was impressive today, but no way can Florida be ahead of an unbeaten Texas Tech at this point. Or a one loss Texas - Texas' one loss is on the road to the #7 team. Florida's loss is to Ole Miss at home. The ratings have to based on the body of work to date and Texas' is better to this point.

    My top 10

    1. Alabama
    2. Penn State
    3. Texas Tech
    4. Texas
    5. Florida
    6. Oklahoma State
    7. Oklahoma
    8. USC
    9. Utah
    10. Ohio State
  7. Talk to me at the end of the year after Florida has humiliated every last team on their schedule.
  8. I don't disagree with you that Florida may very well be the best team at the end of the year. I am saying that you have to rank based on the body of work to this point. If I were putting money on a game that Florida was involved against any of the teams in my top 10, my money would be on Florida. I still think that the home loss to Ole Miss may bite Florida in the behind. If Penn State wins out and Texas wins out including the Big 12 championship (and TTech loses 2 as expected), Florida could be in some trouble. It will be interesting to see how far Texas falls in the polls that matter.
  9. I hate to say it but Bama deserves to be #1; it certainly deserves a better spot than #8. Here is what my list would look like:

    1. Alabama
    2. Penn State
    3. Texas Tech
    4. Florida
    5. Oklahoma
    6. USC
    7. Oklahoma State
    8. Boise St.
    9. Utah
    10. Missouri
    11. Georgia
    12. TCU
    13. BYU
    14. Ohio State
    15. Tulsa
  10. That's very realistic. except LSU being 15.
