as i had plenty idle time to run this game through my feeble mind the last few days, I began to worry. what worries me the most about tomorrow is jamarcus. not his reads, not his nerves, nothing he can control. as good as he is with accuracy down the field, he's not the most mobile guy in the world. that stupid run against Appal. State doesnt change that fact either....dont get me started on him being in the game running at that point either. in fact, hes about as clumsy a black dude you'll see playing football. clumsy in the sense he's got awkward movements which makes him rather slow in his delivery. if bama gets steady pressure like they have against many teams im not sure if that long body/arm can get the ball out fast enough. if he does, we win. if he doesn't, we lose. it may come down to him being able to sustain a hit and stand in the pocket with dudes draped on him and delivering like rohan was the best ive ever seen doing. i think it comes down to that. and on further thought, his delivery will dictate when and where he goes in the draft. tomorrow will be a good indicator if he has those quick muscle fiber/twitches needed. the end.
I have not watched many Bama games this year. I know they have a very good defense, but are they the type that will blitz or is it more of a good coverage defense with a good D line that can get pressure on the QB? Also, do they disguise well? I think that if Russell can get a good read on what they are doing, he will be fine.
I think it hinges on him as well. Not so much being able to throw the ball as being able to hold on to the ball when he is pressured. If we don't turn the ball over we win. With the cupcake defenses Bama has faced, as long as we dont help them out by giving them the ball with field position they will not put up many points.....we win.....
He will be under pressure, that is a given. How is he on slants and quick outs? That could be the key for him. I am not worried about our D, I am worried about our O.
they choose their spots when they are able to pressure with their front 4 (im assuming they dont run a 3-4 even though with great lbs they could). their lbs are pretty sick but their experience is in their secondary with SS peprah, madison their best CB i think and a badass FS in harper. theyre very physical and similar to daniels and landry. maybe i just like to say the name charlie peprah. i always have. i dunno about their disguising, since i dont watch em that closely. hell lsu prolly disguises a lot and i dont realize it. they give different looks like most good defenses and keep you guessing but their LB's bring the heat and make most of the tackles which is a sign of a good defense. i agree i suppose cuz if hes able to get the ball out quick enough he shouldnt be fumbling unless aaron brooks is there in spirit. I disagree about the defense not being tested because its bama. they always get some of the best athletes on defense even if at the cost of playmakers on offense. has always been that way it seems. maybe they arent quite as good on paper as they actually are but they will test LSU tomorrow thats for sure. no, that would be matt jones. for an athlete, jamarcus is awkward and painfully slow to get into motion. once he's moving hes ok. rolllouts hes pretty solid and we can look for that tomorrow. roll that bigboy out and let it fly.
:hihi: ya well he runs good enough where if everyone is covered he can rumble and stumble for like 5 yards. He needs to learn how to get out of bounds before a bama boy kills him. He thinks he is too big to simply run out of bounds or slide but w/e hes a stud.
He has heart, and that is a good thing. But running on our D he may find himself examining a few cloud formations of his own.
