    Scoring Offense = LSU #14 -- SC #55
    Rushing Defense = LSU #3 -- SC #92
    Passing Defense = LSU #2 -- SC #6
    Total Defense = LSU #1 -- SC #29
    Scoring Defense = LSU #1 -- SC #8
    Net Punting = LSU #28 -- SC #91
    Punt Returns = LSU #94 -- SC #81
    Kickoff Returns = LSU #104 -- SC #63
    Turnover Margin = LSU #5 -- SC #80
    Pass Efficiency = LSU #10 -- SC #52
    Pass Eff. defense = LSU #1 -- SC #2
    Punt return Def = LSU #11 -- SC #93
    Kickoff return Def = LSU #25 -- SC #100
    Sacks = LSU #4 -- SC #85
    Sacks Allowed = LSU #76 -- SC #63
    3rd Down Conversion = LSU #5 -- SC #87
    Fewest Penalties = LSU #93 -- SC #19
    Time of Possession = LSU #22 -- SC #61

Now is where some nimrod always jumps up and screams "Stats are meaningless". Well BS. Three week stats aren't really statistically valid, but they are an indicator.

They indicate to me that LSU can't return punts or kickoffs, we allow too many sacks, and we get WAY too many penalties. Just like last year. But in almost every other category LSU is very, very good.

South Carolina has a bloody excellent pass defense, but in almost every other category they are very, very average.

We can run all day on South Carolina and they can't run on us. If we can hold down the stupid penalties (mostly false starts and late hits) we can beat South Carolina soundly.

Is that total yards? Or yards per?

If it's total yards, we're gonna suck all year in this stat. Hell we only return one per game. :hihi:

Average yards per return. LSU has four returns on the season.

that's because we hardly ever let the other team score so we only get do it once (occasionally twice) in a game.

They've kicked to us once a game at either the start of the game or second half and we've only given up one TD. Punts, on the other hand, are not after "Scores".

I can live with the lack of return yards on kicks. The sacks and penalties are a bigger concern. The OL must play better for us to get where we want to be in January.

I didn't realize starting 5 yrds closer would make such a difference.
