They won 22 out of 23 before that. Just a blip on the radar. Past success comes into play (a bit of favoritism). Just think of Rice as part of the top 5 strong teams in the nation, separating themselves from the rest of the country. They were not a flimsy 5. Contrast that with Georgia who just played flat the last 10-12 games of their season. They played themselves out of contention. LSU could conceivably end up a 5 seed. I just don't think it will happen.
I love the term, (gorilla ball), because it just brings back great memories that this team has stirred in my heart again. HOWEVER, there is no doubt that this is a different era...and this team is doing it a different way. They deserve their OWN term...they have their own personality. Now, let's get to figuring out what that term should be!:thumb: (But Blake Dean has DEFINITALY been a gorilla lately...not just hitting HR's, but TIMELY HR's...that had meaning to them...and BOMBS to boot!) Sidebar...Blake Dean played at Crestview High School with my nephew, Ryan. Ryan is graduating this year, and I have had a blast keeping him and his teammates/coaching staff up to date with Blake's accomplishments. I was texting him while he was in school Wednesday, but it was OK because he was in "baseball class"...PE for the baseball team...so they were ALL excited when Blake hit the walk off against USCe. Blake has made a lot of people in Crestview become Tiger fans.:thumb:
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider i hope the cajuns come. i would love to beat the hell out of them. and shut their dumb ass fans up!
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider not allowing them to score a single point in football for over 70 years didn't shut them up. Doubtful another @$$ kicking would.
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider I don't think they will make it to a regional with a near .500 record in the sunbelt... :hihi:
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider I'm a Cajun but not a ULL fan. Lifelong LSU fan from Donaldsonville who lives in BR. You are correct that they have assanine fans. Had to listen to a couple of drunk guys in L-2 when we played them. I told them to shut up or get their ass kicked. They quieted down for an innning or two. Alcohol truly made these guys invisible.
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider Not so fast my friend... 2006... 3 points baby... against LSU's starters... Hey... we take what we can get! ;-)
Re: Baton Rouge: LSU (#7 natioanl seed), Virginia, New Orleans, Rider 2005 - 1924 (last time UL-L scored n LSU) = 81 years  not bashing you loco, you're one of the good ones :thumb:, but some of their fans truly BELIEVED they had a chance in that game :insane::huh:
