1. Okay, the NCAA 2006 Records Book is out and you guys have a real shot to make LSU history.

I'll post the other "decade numbers" separately, but for the decade at hand (2000's), here's the rankings through seven years.
(please note the the records book calculates a decade starting with the 00 year and ending with the 09 year... I have no idea why it's set up like that, but it is)

    Boise State...76-13...85.4%
    Oklahoma......79-14...84.9
    Texas...........75-14...84.2
    Miami...........71-16...81.6
    Ohio State....70-18...79.5
    SoCal...........70-19...78.6
    LSU.............70-20...77.8
    Louisville.......68-20...77.2
    Georgia.........69-21...76.7
    Virginia Tech..68-21...76.4

    others in the hunt....
    TCU..............64.21...75.3
    Auburn..........66-23...74.1
    Michigan........64-23...73.6
    Florida...........65-24...73.0
    Toledo...........60-26...69.8
    Florida State...62-28...68.9

Finishing in the top ten in wins for a decade... there's something you've never done (at least back five decades, which is all the records book shows)
  2. THat's pretty interesting. Numbers 2-7 all won National Titles. LSU representin the SEC with 70 and many more to come!

    Memphis 70-25-1

Interesting... for the Penn State poster on board, the Nittany Lions are the only team to make the list all four decades... although the 2000's ain't looking so hot.....
  4. LSU will be projected to move up to 4th after going 14-0 next season.
  5. No surprise we did not make the list for the 90s. That decade was the dark ages for the LSU football program.
  6. That is definately a possibility.
  7. Really shows the "prestige" of the Notre Dame program.

Barely broke the top ten 3 decades ago. Woot? :thumb:

  8. I was waiting on this one!

ND actually had more success since the 70's. It just so happened to occure from 1987-1993. The problem is that they struggled in the early 80's and the late 90's. Had that period started in the earlier part of either decade they would have easily made the list.
  9. ummm, thanks for sharing...:yelwink2:
  10. Win one for the gipper:grin:
