Three Top 25 teams escaped with narrow victories yesterday: - FSU struggled against Troy and had to score a 4th quarter TD to escape with a 7 point win. How much of it was a result of their Monday night win over Miami and probably overlooking Troy and how much of it was their pathetic offense? - Hawker45's Hawkeyes struggled against Syracuse and escaped with a one point OT win. - The Vols escaped with a one point win when the AFA Zoomies went for the W with a 2 point conversion try and failed late in the 4th quarter. Suspect the Vols were probably looking ahead to the Gators. More proof that you need to care of the business at hand as we did against the Wildcats and not get caught looking ahead to your next game.
And a pathetic display it was (20-13 2 OT's)..... O.K., Tate didn't play (abdominal pain), Dominick Douglas, starting WR & punt returner, didn't play (groin), Albert Young had limited carries (shoulder).... but, still, this was Syracuse we played. The OLine was intact, the defense was healthy. The only good news is we did stop them on seven consecutive plays from our two yard line. All in all...... We got us some work to do.
BTW, you guys looked awesome. I watched as much as I could before switching over to the Texas/tOSU game. I've cleared my schedule to watch ALL of your Auburn game... so get after 'em good!!
