Posted this in another thread, but it occurred to me that the last time we were ranked number one, we played KY the very next weekend. And.....we lost. Of course, that was a particularly good KY team. Next weekend, I wouldn't be surprised if Mett started the second half again.
I like this ranking, it shows we're finally getting the love from the beat writers that LSU has deserved for years. The defense will be righted and this offense is starting to get some chemistry. Hopefully they grow an attitude and refuse to lose... this season is shaping up to be very special.
AP is meaningless, but I'll take the No.1 ranking. I wouldn't shy away from it like Coach Miles was last night; although I know he was just being modest. As long as we're ranked in the top 10, we won't be sneaking up on anyone.
As Red pointed out, when consistently you give a team with an offense like WVU's a 90 yard field, the yards are going to pile up. It's the scoring defense that matters.
New AP #1 I think it's deserving, but still kind of surprises me!!! LSU is new No. 1 in AP Top 25, OU No. 2 - College Football - Rivals.com
