Maybe not. The 14th Amendment covers a lot of ground. What you'd need is an amendment that strikes down only the first line of section 1, where it specifically says The rest of 14 defines citizens' rights pertaining to election and holding public office. You don't want to change any of that; merely the part that defines who is entitled to citizenship.
well to be fair my assertion was always correct, you changed the subject and i didnt pay attention. so my mistake was not being wrong, but assuming that you hadnt changed the subject. i remain correct in that the children of illegals will be citizens unless the 14th amendment is repealed or revoked or changed or whatever. and i am also correct in my assertion that it will never happen. and furthermore i am correct in that the parents of citizens will continue to, and deserve, to be able to stay, just like the spouses of citizens.
This aint about Obama, I know your hypocritical obsession leads you to believe that, along with other reasons your to chicken shyt to admit, but prior administrations did nothing about illegal immigration. This about state laws that violate the constitution. The document thats good and wonderful when it fits your agenda, but in this instance you seem to be against it. Go figure.
I fully admit I don't like Obama. He won't do anything to control Arizona's border so they have to take action themselves. Whether it's constitutional remains to be seen, but AZ is only trying to get the Administration to do something besides scream racism. Oh, and prior administrations are irrelevant. Barry is in the WH now. Has been been a year and a half.
Its unconstitutional, its that simple I know you dont want to admit that because you agree with what they are doing, but thats just your hypocritical bs as usual. I haven't seen any administration official come out and say this law is racist. I have heard them say it could lead to racial profiling, which is true, but if they have said something about spanish people, thats because it is targeted towards spanish folks. But this second push against children born here to illegals, its just plain unconstitutional. Im sorry if you dont understand the constitution, which Im sure you do to an extent, but it just doesn't fit your needs right now, maybe tomorrow it will on another topic. Arizona is embarrassing themselves, trying to outshine Russia in the 80s.
if you say so, dude. clearly i meant the constitution gives citizenship to the children born here and that opposes okie's idea, which i clearly was discussing.
whether its unconstitutional or not isnt everything. isnt that the beauty of the document? that it can be changed? i dont have a problem with it being changed to disallow citizenship by illegal activity.
