One of my concern is the inclusion of "players". Are these current or former players? The other is the inclusion of certain writers. Ted Lewis, the p-ss poor college beat writer for the T-P, was asked to join the poll. Harris Interactive Polling is conducting the actual count. I just wonder how this would be an improvement. The sportswriters show their "impartiality" every Heisman vote. I do not want to see a playoff, but there has to be a more reliable vehicle. The writers, changing votes to genuflecting to "their public", screwed Michigan in 1997 and the Good Guys in 2003. I can see folks like Ivan Maisel and Ted Lewis voting an undeated Arkansas State #1 over an undefeated LSU just push the playoff issue to the front burner, regardless of the fact that one team played in lousy league.
