  2. Talking about shortening the game.
  3. I wouldn't object to the one about not stopping the clock to move the chains; its good enough for the NFL. Don't like the proposed clock change after incompletions, and really can't stand the idea that they might implement that rule "until late in the game." The rules should not change depending on how much time is left on the clock.

My 2 suggestions: a. shorten halftime, and b. limit the amount of commercial time networks can sell (charge more per spot if you can't function on less than $793 million in gross revenue (reported figure for ESPN in 2020)).

  4. I don't like them messing with it. When I go to a game I plan to spend the day enjoying myself, it is not a drive thru sport although it looks like they are trying to make it one. Golf, baseball, football, etc. is suppose to take most of my day, now I'm going to have to find something else to squeeze in to eat up the time.
  5. It's all TV's fault. Commercial timeouts after kicks and every change of possession. All geared up for football, then kickoff...timeout for TV. Five minutes later the first play takes place.
I used to hate going to TV games when at APP . We weren't on TV more than 3-4 times a year back then. Non TV games averaged about 2/12 hours, TV games average 3 1/2 or more. Sitting outside in a wet 20 degrees, that extra 1 1/2 hours was a killer. It adds 1/3 or more to the time. They already cut half-time a couple of minutes, rolling clocks, etc. TV however gets more breaks than ever.

  6. You all are missing the point. They don't care how long the game takes, the're trying to figure out how to limit the player's "exposure" (snaps) during a game or over the course of the season. This will pretty much kill any expansion of the CFPs.

  7. I would like to see changes to the OT rules. Start on the 40 instead of the 25. It’s way too easy to kick a FG without moving the ball a single yard
  8. Agree
  9. I didn't even consider the expansion but you could be onto something. Shit!
  10. If that's the real reason, why do they keep adding games? Used to be 11 and a bowl.
Now it's 12, conference championship and a bowl. More if you are a contender.
Hell if it's that dangerous, never mind cutting games/plays, just eliminate the sport.
