Let's just suck it up and beat the living crap out of ASU...turn this into a blessing in disguise as our poll numbers will be better due to this being viewed as a road game. That's my mindset now.
We played there last year and got our butts kicked. No excuses, we just kept giving them the ball and they just kept on scoring. One thing of note... their stadium holds noise very well. Of course, if you can blow 'em out early, there should be very little noise to worry about. Personally, I think it's best to not let them get ahead 30-0 before you decide to start playing. On the bright side, there's some great bars just down from the stadium.
Well, according to some here there's not going to be anybody at the game because AZ didn't have any time to promote the game so we don't have to worry about the crowd noise. (Of course I don't buy this.)
We ain't exactly worried about noise. Just worried about the Tigers keeping focus with all of the distractions.
I don't think the noise factor will influence our guys to much. They are used to SEC stadiums, including Death Valley, that can get pretty loud. They are a good team & it's certainly not a game that I'm overlooking. They will be a very strong test for our team. About the bar scene there in Temp... Do you remember if you have to be over 21 to enter? Most bars here, you only have to be 18 to get into. Is it like that there? I don't turn 21 for a few weeks & will be making the trip. Any other suggestions on what to do there for the night scene?
.:rofl::rofl: Who are you talking about? :hihi: I never said that. I just don't think one week's notice equates to a home game. I'm sure they'll have some people there, but not a sell out. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, and just give us that many more people to disappoint in person.
I'm actually worried about the whole game. It really sucks Miles has to open up on the road with a tough loss. However, if the Tigers play together as a team and actually win I think it will help when LSU meets Tennessee at home since THAT will be Miles' first game in TS. I guess win or lose, the game will be great when we meet UT. But it sure would suck being 0-1 after what promised to be a great season. But it's all speculation. I don't know anything about ASU other than they beat Iowa last season and Iowa beat us... other than it being two totally different teams, it's still a terrible thing to go by, I know... but that's all I have at this moment. What the hell am I saying? LSU will win handily!
First off, I think you meant to include an IF when you said open on the road with a tough loss. Secondly, don't count on the Tennessee game being played in TS just yet. The "refugees" aren't going anywhere. Third, yes - we WILL beat ASU handily! :hihi:
Missouri cancelled their "home and home" with Iowa so they could play mighty Arkansas State in Arrowhead Stadium this past Saturday. That went well.... they drew 33,000 fans. My guess is ASU will get within 90% of a sellout. This is a big, big game for them... and their fans generally show up for "event" games. As I mentioned earlier, Miles needs to get the players out there now... too many distractions in BR right now.
No, I really do think LSU will win, but there is a fair possibility that we might lose. I think we win by 20+ though...
