ESPN reporting the Saints have signed RB C.J. Spiller, and traded Kenny Stills to the Dolphins for LB Dannell Ellerbe and a 5th rounder. Like the Spiller trade (if the cap hit is right); nice change of pace from Ingram and KRob, and we finally have no more excuse for keeping Cadet.

Not happy with Stills trade at all....know nothing about Ellerbe, but I do know Stills is a good WR, and we are now ridiculously thin at the position now.

Hopefully spiller can stay off the IR list. Guess we are going to the Les miles run run run punt offense.

Larry Holder at nola.com points out that the Saints will have 5 of the first 80 picks in a deep WR draft.

CJ Spiller will flourish under CSP.

Soooo pick an unproven rookie rather than keep a young WR that has proven he can play? Makes perfect sense....if you're a Saints fan.

I'm thinking attitude issues, or other character challenges? Dude's hitting a prime time of a football players career, so something else had to play into this. Ellerbe's gimped up, so he's a risk, albeit, our D needs help.

Maybe they can trade Morstadt and use the pick to draft a punter in the mold of Russell Erxlaben.

Didn't say I agree with the reasoning. I've already said I hated the trade.
