adam schefter says jerry jones is likely to go the college route for a hc while miles and bob stoops could emerge as candidates for the gig. cowher and fisher are listed as longshots.. wade phillips the early favorite.
We will probably dodge this one, but after next season, I hope Skip ponies up the $$$. It shouldn't come into question, though. The incentives in his contract will take care of that.:thumb:
I think Phillips has this one if he wants it. He may decline it since he thinks he is line for the Chargers job after Schottenheimer fails to win a playoff game next season. Schefter is a credible source, I will admit. He knows his stuff.
i certainly dont agree with it since its proven to be a much harder task than trying to find a proven asst in the nfl. both ways are close to impossible but your odds are better at finding a payton than a jimma johnson. Yet I suppose since his greatest success was with a college coach, he feels he can do it again. although, hes so far behind the 8 ball due to the timing, he's more than likely going to have to overpay for a washed up proven nfl name, like reeves or schottenheimer, or settle on a dude like wade phillips? my first thought was he's definitely going to overpay for another high-profile proven coach and it will be another failure. mainly because of JJ himself as usual. Though if given the choice, JJ would more than likely choose a bigger name like stoops even over a more proven guy like ron rivera. he wants it to be the biggest headline possible either way.
Miles and Stoops mentioned in the same breath? Sooner fans every where were choking on their beer over that one!
i didnt even think about that but thats certainly true. sacrilege i tell ya. add to the fact its an nfl guy saying it and it hurts 'em even more. and certainly funny.
If Jones wanted him he would leave IMO. He coached for the Cowboys already and 4+ million would talk anyone into leaving.
also said nick saban was interested in taking over if les left. quoted as yelling "roll tigers" during the interview while wearing a purple shirt with red pants.
