Did anyone else shake their head and let out a big sigh when they showed Coach Saban furiously pacing the sidelines for the first time last night? Did anyone else get excited when they showed him miked up at practice talking about motivation and effort? Did anyone else get fired up when they showed him screaming his head off at the 3rd string defense? Be honest. Miles is going to be great in Baton Rouge, but I think I'm going to miss that little giant more than I originally thought. There are very few people on this planet like Nick Saban and I would wish him good luck if I thought he needed it...
Yep I always enjoyed Nick's sideline fits. Les Miles won't be nearly as entertaining but a W is a W. We just have to deal with it. For that matter Will Muschamp was fun to watch.
Have ya'll missed the Les Miles videos? His quotes? Trust me, as soon as he starts winning Les Miles is going to be a GREAT fit here in Baton Rouge. Les Miles is 10 times more entertaining than Saban & I'll actually be able to watch him talk. Saban was just plain boring - and that was with LSU's sport network pleading with him to have somewhat of a personality.
Absolutely loved it. It was good to see the look of exhilaration when the Fins scored. OK, so maybe it was an expressionless look. It was great. I can't imagine how brutal the OL practice will be this week after all of those false starts.
Hard to imagine Miles being more entertaining on the sidelines. I missed half the action during the games b/c I was watching Saban. He was dull and boring during interviews, but was priceless on the sidelines.
Again, I point to Miles' video clips that have floated around. He can get pretty fiery himself & is also very passionate on the sidelines.
Things I found out from last night's preseason game: Kyle Orton actually has potential. Stood and delivered the football in the face of a rush, and actually rolled out and evaded a jailbreak blitz and completed a sideline pass. Brock Berlin sucks. Drove his team the length of the field only to stare directly at his primary receiver and throw a game-losing interception on the exact same play as the previous one. Kay-Jay Harris is a wasted pick for the Dolphins. They have more than enough RB's, what with bonghead, Ronnie Brown, and Travis Minor. They need QBs and WRs. He showed me absolutely nothing. Mark Bradley is a player. Represents OU well with both the anecdote about his contract signing and his play.
