What bugs me is the huge swings in standings for some teams in the computer polls. Last week, Tennessee was ranked 11, 16, 10, 15, 10, 19 and 19 in the 7 respective polls. This week, after beating Miami, they are ranked 6, 4, 5, 5, 4, 6 and 6. That's a jump up of 5, 12, 5, 10, 6, 13 and 13 or an average jump of 9.14 spots! LSU, on the other hand, averaged a jump up of only 0.71 spots despite two or three teams ranked ahead of them losing. Was UT's win really that impressive? Did the computers seem to forget about the absolute destruction UGA handed them in their own stadium? These numbers defy logic, yet they are an integral part in deciding who plays for the national championship. I realize I should not be worried about this, and that the focus should be on Bama, but this pisses me off.
