I would put the Sugar Bowl no lower than #3 and perhaps #2. Don't know how many people are interested in seeing a rematch between Michigan and USC in the Rose Bowl. I think the writer may be correct in criticizing the bowls for being locked into conference championships. It certainly has not worked well for them this year. I am interested in other views on this subject.

Dunno about that... Notre Dame is outside the top 10 and likely doesn't even deserve to be that high.

    rematch?

My guess is the match up in the Sugar Bowl will fall third in the Bowl TV ratings behind tOSU/Florida and USC/Michigan. Notre Dame will have a lot of "tuner-ins"... at least for the first half.

Now, to beat my Hawkeye drum for a second... as totally crappy as we were this year (6-6, losing our last four conference games), we still will have some 25,000+ fans at the Alamo Bowl. The game is already sold out and it will be the largest crowd ever, surpassing the Penn State/A&M game in 1999.

Last year's game between Michigan and Nebraska was not sold out, however, it was the highest rated ESPN bowl game ever at 5.4% audience. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat that number and have a higher rating than the Cotton or the Orange Bowl. We Hawkeyes show up!!

It was the 2003 Rose Bowl USC beat Michigan for their MNC.

Or do they count it as the 2004, cuz it was played in 2004? I always count the season.

Yeah it was the 2004 one, just like how we won the 2004 sugar bowl and are playin in the 2007 sugar. makes it real confusing, i don't like it when seasons overlap into new years like nba/nhl.
