I have to admit, I didn't expect much from the polls this week, but for some reson I thought winning at #8 Tennessee might bump us more than ONE point!! What is up with that?? USC beats up on winless Stanford and all I hear on ESPN is how they are back in form. I suppose we should be thankful that Tennessee actually dropped to 13 behind us? Do we have to blow every team out while other teams are allowed to scrape by or even lose to UNRANKED opponents, and don't suffer at all. It is amazing how much you hear that the SEC is the toughest conference this year, but it sure doesn't look like the polls are reflecting this. Curious to see what the BCS will be...

In my opinion, unless you have a shot at being #1 or #2 in the BCS then the rankings are meaningless.

dude we have 5 times in the top 15, there is only so much complaining you can do. usc is back in form because they actually showed some offensive fire which they havent really shown on a consistant basis(excluding steve smith last week). if you look at the wins and losses of this week, theres no reason for us to move up any more than we did

usually if a team is #13 and beat #8 on the road, they will move up more than one spot. if the voters look at the other teams and their records then lsu doesnt move up much, but if they move teams based on relative strengths of that weeks performance then you'd think lsu would have moved up more.

where does auburn go if they lose? below lsu? if the voters just compare the teams records then they should be above lsu after another loss because of same record and h2h

Very rarely though as BCS ranking is the last tiebreaker, when all else fails.

We are the highest two loss team, could be worse so get over it.

No but we have to consistently beat top ten teams to be in. Yesterday was a great step back to where we need to be but Auburn and Florida games- it doesn't wipe the slate clean.

It's a catch 22 for us, our conference has some hosses but our OOC games hurt us, regardless of whether or not they are justified because "We beat up on each other in conf. "play".

USC is getting outside help with Nebraska, Arkansas (and whoever else) winning.

Who cares about which conf is the strongest, if LSU was #1 the rest of the conf. could be in the tubes for all I care. JMO.

I think we are getting some respect. We are a 2 loss team ranked above a few undefeated teams.

What happens if Rutgers beat Louisville rather convincingly Thursday night? Do they shoot up in the polls like ARKY did when they beat Texas back in '03? Or do the pollsters just kinda snicker and "say no way can we put Rutgers in the top ten."

yes, but this year, barring a complete collapse by auburn AND two more losses by Ark, the only way LSU gets in to SECCG is by the bcs ranking
