Even with Charlie Weis as the coach, how many more bowl appearances without a win will it take for ESPN, ABC and the rest of the pollsters to figure out that Notre Dame should be held to the same standards as everyone else in NCAA football? I think Rudy's legend has come to an end. Bowl eligibility should not mean a guaranteed BCS birth. Chuck :geauxtige
Big difference in talent level. Losing to Ohio State in a fairly close game is nothing to be ashamed of in his first season. Because of Weiss, Notre Dame is a legit top 10 team.
I agree with you. I am just glad that Miles won his bowl game, so we don't have to hear that for the next several months! :geauxtige
I wouldn't say a legit top 10 team, the score against OSU should have been a lot worse. And the schedule this year is ****ty to put it mildly.
Is it just me or is Norte Dame a bit over-rated? I mean they have a solid QB and passing game, but top 5? No I don't think so. Ofcourse with how bad the SEC performed in bowl games, I can't argue that ND isn't a top 10 team. Atleast in pre-season I think they will be.
A resounding BULLSH!T! Notre Dame's "BIG" win, the one that moved them to the forefront, was against Michigan, which turned out to be an average team. Then, they played USC close (in fact, should have beat them), but, then again the same could be said for Fresno State. Notre Dame is a legitimate top 25 team, and I would have them 21st or 22nd. The hype got them to the BCS bowl. Weis has done nothing to deserve the praise he's getting. In fact, the USC loss is on him and his staff. They had that game won.
alrigth SF ur nuts man. Weis is a hell of a good coach and will have ND in or around the top 10 for the next few years. ND is way better then a 21st or 22nd ranking.
Remember when Ty went to the Fiesta after his first year and everybody was saying that ND was back....oh well.
