Maisel is wrong to just focus on one game and one game's playcalling in pointing out Richt's "one negative" as Jawja coach.

I think the fact that he rarely beats Florida is a definite negative, too. If Maisel thinks winning regularly but losing repetedly to a big rival isn't a "negative", he should call guys like John Cooper, Earl Bruce, (against Steve Spurrier) Phat Phil and (until last month) Mack Brown and get their thoughts on the subject...ask them if they get any grief for not being able to beat a big rival.

I think OC have good games and bad games calling plays. And also a good play can look like a bad play if the players dont execute.

Vice versa a bad play can turn out great if somebody makes a great catch or run.

 

Now you've got it. Similarly, it's only a bad play if it doesn't work. But, of course, if the OC knew it wouldn't work, he wouldn't have called it in the first place.

richt has a history of brain lapses in big games, its no secret if you watch. he's a solid coach but he needs to make better decisions late in games if UGA is ever gonna make a run at the :crystal: NC.


calling a run play from your own 40 with a minute left in the game on 3rd and 10 with 1 timeout left is pretty funny you gotta admit.

 

Joe Tereshinski isn't going to win the game for you.

As we found out in 2004, it's difficult to call plays when the execution is borked.
