PORTLAND, Ore. -- Greg Oden, the top pick in this year's NBA Draft, likely will miss his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers after surgery on his right knee Thursday.

Doctors found cartilage damage during an exploratory procedure, and team physician Dr. Don Roberts performed microfracture surgery to repair the damage.
  2. First Walton, then Bowie, now Oden. Are big men drafted by Portland cursed? picks
  3. Bad situation for all involved -- especially Oden and the Blazers. I was looking forward to watching him. Hopefully this isn't a career-impacting injury.
  4. You can bet yur azz the Blazers are hoping this isnt career impacting. They already spent 50 Mil they cant get back. Can you imagine the feeling of taking 50 million and just flushing it? Maaaaaaannnnn....
  5. Microfracture is a dicey surgery. He better make sure not to rush back. Amare Stoudamire took almost 2 years to get back to 100%.
  6. This surgery will set him back quite a while.
  7. tell me about it.. you'll never cut on me again.:angryfire
  8. I've done some more reading about the cursed Trailblazers after hearing the talking heads go on and on with the Walton and Bowie comparisons.

Do you realize they picked #1 in 1972 and picked some dope named LaRue. The #2 pick was Bob McAdoo, who only had a Hall of Fame career.

I'm thinking the Trailblazers should have passed on the #1 pick and just waited for Seattle to come off the clock. They're clearly cursed in a 1 v. 2 situation.
  9. Seeing Kevin Durant interviews with him talking about his drive and desire to constantly get better, I wonder if Durant should have been the #1 pick anyways.
