C'mon guys. Sure, the refs aren't helping us but they aren't the reason we got out ass handed to us tonight.

I completely agree, the lack of an outside game kills us and Brady getting the T at the wrong time killed any chance.

It is hard to watch a team just get outhustled on the boards.

Our guys wouldnt know a blockout if it bit em in the butt.

Rebounding is position and hustle and it just aint there tonight.

LSU is doing a poor job of getting lose balls and rebounds. And they are guarding the hell out of Glen Davis. I've seen a few bad calls on both sides. Hawes has walked a few times but Davis has slipped several times and there werent calls.

Washington just jumped out on LSU from the get go. Those Brockman buckets weren't expected and his defense on Davis has been the key.

I agree with you for the most part, the boards, other team can't miss and
we have no consistant outside threat?
Or did they out play Big Baby that bad?
NO way, the refs sure is hell didn't call anything on Washington on those
2 drives, 1 by Tasmin and other by Big Baby.
Big Baby got pushed and shoved around like crazy tonite and no calls against
    Washington.

I agree with you to an extent, we don't have the outside game to go with
the inside or teams couldn't bury Big Baby but this was the worst game
    I've ever seen by officals.

    This was worse imo.
They weren't guarding the hell out of Davis they were fouling the hell out of
him, no wonder he is exhausted.
Rewind your Tivo like me and check it out.
At the other end LSU touches them and they call a foul?
    What gives?

Everyone here knows from football season that I usually don't blame the refs
for the games either but Big Baby was mugged at both ends tonite!

This team didnt look good tonight and is going to have to get better or it is going to be a long year .

It is just one game and their is a long way to go but not impressed with the poise this team showed. Undisciplined gaurd play and no imagination on getting the ball to Big Baby down low. No Motion in our offense at all.

We also got outhustled around the boards and didnt play smart.

And someone better teach our guys how to defend the pick and break to the basket or else we are going to get killed.

Dissapointed in the game. I was looking forward to seeing the tigers come out and play a good game and have a good effort. Didnt happen.

Without the threat of Tyrus Thomas teams are just gonna shut down big baby and make the others beat em.

Oh Well Here we go again !!!

I'll say, even as the usual LSU bball fan, this loss was embarassing. To lose by close to 20 obviously meant we didn't show up and Brady needs to take some blame for it. If it was a close loss, you almost expect it since it was at Washington and they are a good young team with a solid coach. But, this was the case of Washington was prepared to play and jumped on us quick, neutralized our best weapon and never let up.

So, here's the silver lining and the realities of where we are. First, the silver lining. 1. Remember that in the non-conference last year, we lost all but maybe one of our tough preseason games... the rest is history. 2. Everyone's entitled to their off game--this one happened to be against a very motivated Washington team, with a frontline who has read nothing but press clippings against "big baby" all week, and had something to prove. 3. As bad as Big Baby played, I saw some things out of players I watching even in a bad game. Minor and Mason played better than they had. Martin showed me some nice things and he'll be an asset. 4. Mitchell is a constant force. Our supporting cast is learning to assert themselves.

But, here are the realities. 1. The team has expected Big Baby to carry the team, and clearly, LSU struggles when Big Baby does not play well. Washington WAS allowed to manhandle Big Baby and that's unfair, but Big Baby also did not handle the aggressive d very well. So, when teams neutralize Big Baby, we have to find an answer. 2. We might be able to win with Big Baby having an ok game, but we can't win when he and Garrett Temple have bad games. Garrett Temple actually picking up 3 fouls hurt us, our "big 3" was essentially Tas'. 3. We cannot rely on our inside game. Rolle and Lazare are not game changers. If Big Baby is not on, I'm worried about our inside game. Washington out hustled us down low, got more rebounds and made more points, and we have no defensive presence down low. We got zero from Lazare and we miss the atheleticism of Thomas. Rolle has a lot of growing up to do. I think we can be adequate down there, BUT, both Lazare and Rolle have to crank it up a notch. 4. We are not playing with enough fire or smarts on defense it seems. While Washington just shot lights out, with an athletic, long Brady team, you'd think we would not fall behind by so many points. Something is not quite right. 5. Brady is still tinkering with his line up. Martin plays a bunch tonight, and honestly, the rotation's not set due to his joining late. The team's still trying to figure out how to score when Baby's not the focal point. That's a work in progress.

Oh well, at some level, if your opponent's bigs double our bigs' score and if they shoot better than 50% from 3 land, you're going to lose. It's a loss that you accept, but you hate to be embarassed. Let's hope now with some "easy" games, the Tigers will find their rotation and work out more of the kinks.

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. PACK THE PMAC.
