It's amazing how a few hours of sleep changes your attitude. While I'm still upset with the way we lost, the rest of the season looks really bright. It's clear the LSU and Auburn have the best defenses in the SEC, and 2 of the best in the country. We will not see anything that good the rest of the way. We'll be favored in the remaining games, except for Florida. After watching the UF/UT game last night, we can beat both of these teams on their field. The Florida game will be more difficult, but very winnable. Outside of UT and UF, we should roll in the other games. I'll be surprised if we aren't the highest ranked one loss team when the polls come out, and possibly remain in the top ten. We have an excellent shot at running the table and contending for a BCS bowl. And with a little help and luck, like in '03, anything can happen. Have no mercy on Tulane and MSU. Beat the crap out of both teams, get some playing time for the younger players, and let's get ready for Florida.
I agree with almost all of that...I am not upset with the way we lost as much as just that we lost. We outplayed AU all game on defense and offense. Just one variable we had no control of is what cost us the game. I still think we were the better team. If we would have gotten our run game going...no way we would have lost.
It's an early-season loss by 4 points to a top-3 team. We got spanked by Florida in 2003 later in the season and still ended up in the National Championship game. More undefeated teams will take losses. Michigan and Ohio must play. Auburn still has the SEC to play through. Stranger things have happened.
Before the season started I think almost everyone would say an 11-1 record would be great. The potential for a super great season is still there and we have a really really good team that should run the table from here on out. However the way the AU game was lost will sting for a while because I firmly believe it is a game we should have won.
Season ending injuries are disturbing to think about, but Auburn would be in deep kim-chee if Cox goes down. Depth is important in the tough SEC schedule. Most teams don't have it at QB.
I pity the Tulane players next week. "Daddy is mad,and SOMEBODY is gonna feel the pain".:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
I feel confident that if LSU keeps this defensive game where it is now, they will win a ****load more games than they lose. I also hate that any call could make you question the outcome, but at the same time I dont think one call completely makes or breaks the game for anyone. LSU showed up big time yesterday, and they are for real. I'm tired, hungover as HELL, and damn proud of the Tigers! God have mercy on the Greenies!
