  4. I wouldn't have guessed Swope would have such elite measurables. Here's the top verticals for WRs

    Vertical Results - WRs
    Justin Hunter, Tennessee (39.5)
    Da'Rick Rogers, Tennessee Tech (39.5)
    Marcus Davis, Virginia Tech (39.5)
    Mark Harrison, Rutgers (38.5)
    Ryan Swope, Texas A&M (37.0)
    Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee (37.0)
    Markus Wheaton, Oregon State (37.0)
    Tavarres King, Georgia (36.5)
  5. This is funny...Sam and Mingo have a $5,000 bet on who gets drafted first

"We've had quite a few bets in our career,"
Mingo said. "I think our first one was the first
sack for the season. He was supposed to
wash my car because I won, and he hasn't
done that. Then, we have most sacks in the
season and on down the line."
The stakes have been raised for two possible
first-round picks -- the powerful, muscular
    Montgomery and the explosive, athletic
Mingo. They placed a $5,000 bet -- the
second player of the two drafted must pay
    the first.
"I'm pretty confident in myself. He's gonna
have to come with that one, and I get a
    car wash," Mingo said.
  6. Swope had more receiving Td's than anyone on the team, he was second in total yards. Coming out of high school, he placed 5th at the 5A State track meet as a junior with a time of 10.7 in the 100 meters … was also a regional qualifier in the 200 with a clocking of 21.93. They had one of the better WR classes, what do you think made JF? Ok, having a little fun with that last one. It was funny, a third of JF's Ints., were thrown to LSU players.

  7. What is shocking is that with those elite measurables, plus incredible production in 5A Texas high school football (2,300 yards from scrimmage and 31 TD as a senior, 1,900 yards and 19 TD as junior, 5A All-State as both a RB and Kick Returner)...

...he was only rated a 3-star recruit by everyone, and got no offers to big time schools, not even Texas and he's from Austin (he went to the same high school in Austin as Drew Brees, 3rd R QB Nick Foles, and current Ravens K Justin Tucker)

And he goes to A&M and breaks all their school records... #1 in career receiving yards, #1 in career receptions, #2 in career TDs, #1 in single season receiving yards, #1 in single season receptions, #2 in single season TDs

I won't be surprised if the Patriots draft him to be Wes Welker's replacement

  8. If you go to Swope's Bio on the A&M website, this is what you see........

How can they misspell the word "Qualifier?"

An they wonder about the aggie jokes.
  9. Swope is the wrong shade to go early as a WR... NFL assumptions and stereotypes at their best.
