I know this is a bit off topic.

But after that great year last year, the bowl win, the great game against Florida, etc.... do you think UK has a shot at no. 2 or no. 3 in the East.

Again, if this is too off topic, then please delete.

I am just impressed with Woodson. Very talented young man.

UK is a better team than they played us for sure. Woodson is a stud and will probably be one of the top SEC QB's drafted. However, I just can't see UK overpassing all the great teams in the east. Georgia will be better, Tennessee is still up there, Florida is defending champs, South Carolina is in the mix too and plus Vandy is a bowl team and usually good for an upset or two. Having said that, I see UK being around 5th place, maybe 4th.

    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

I think they are impressive too, but finishing in front of Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, & South Carolina? I don't think so. The east is by far the toughest division this year and they seemed a bit down last year with the exception of Florida, but that is about to change in a big way. And don't count on those teams taking Kentucky for granted, based on last year of course. Tough luck for Kentucky...

The question about UK all falls on how well they rebuild they OL. I know they lost 3 starters and I want to say they graduated 7 or 8 Sr's who were members of their OL. There's some shuffling going on, no doubt.

Perhaps the most under-rated player in the SEC is Raphael Little. He didn't have a great '06 year dealing with a knee injury that slowed him down all season. But, if you look back at the '05 season you can see what may lay ahead of him this season. While McFadden gets all the nods, Little may be just as good of a player.

offense will score enough to stick around, defense is the question. woodson is the most underrated qb in the country. if the defense can play into the 4th qtr then they will beat some they shouldn't. don't get on the bandwagon just yet, last year's schedule was filled with enough creampuffs to get bowl eligible.

Kentucky wants to be known as something more than Just A Basketball School really badly. They have a pretty good coach and more talent than usual, so I imagine they will do better than usual this year. But who are they going to be better than? Florida, Georgia, or Tennessee? They will have to beat one or two of those guys.

I've been thinking that the east could come down to Kentucky or Georgia.
I really don't think Tennesse will be that good this year, even if Ainge comes back 100% healthy. They've lost some key people to the draft, and if you really look at what they did last year they never were really dominating.
Florida I'm not sure about either way. They are the defending champs, but they also lost a ton of key people, and I'm still not convinced that Teabow can be as productive as the 2QB system last year.
I'll also add that I think Kentucky is one of the teams that could catch LSU off guard and pull off an upset. Granted, it would be a huge upset, but one that is not far fetched. I'll check back in the fall to see how accurate I was.
