Opinions Wanted...

Alrighty fellow Tiger fans, I have a couple of questions, and am looking for some opinions.

First, I'm looking for info on any LSU DVD's out there. I know there's the Sugar Bowl DVD, the "Victory for LSU" DVD (which has been my quick fix as of late), and there's the home made highlights DVD that focuses on the media. First question is for anyone with the home made DVD, how is it? Opinions? Second, does anyone know of any other collection out there? I like the "Victory for LSU" DVD and all, but I wish I had something with more highlights than just the minute or two from each game set to music. It would be nice to have highlights of each drive, or something like that. (BTW, if there's not any other DVD available, someone out there who taped or Tivo'd the games last season should stick 'em on a DVD and sell 'em to the rest of us.)

Second, I'm looking for opinions on cable vs. satellite. I've always had cable, and most people I know have cable, but I've recently moved, and am trying to get opinions before I sign up for anything. And of course I want to get signed up soon, since football season is about to start. So, opinions?

Dont think I can help you with your DVD dilemma, but I can offer an opinion on satellite vs cable. I switched to Direct TV a year ago and I would never go back to Cox cable. The picture is better and there is a better selection of programming available. I see the Cox advertisments knocking satellite for loss of signal during bad weather, but I have only lost my signal twice for very short periods of time....and that was in really bad weather.
I am a huge football fan and got it to take advantage of Sunday NFL Ticket. Which, I believe, is God's gift to every football fan. I am in a number of fantasy football leagues and I can watch any and every football game to see my fantasy players in action. I lapse into a football coma every Sunday....And dont forget the NFL Network is on 24/7! You can also get a similar plan to watch many of the college football games.
Direct TV is definately the way to go!

Just the opposite here. When I had Direct TV I lost the signal all the time even in a light rain. I was paying about $85 a month for the same channels I get from Cox for about $60 a month for digital cable and with Direct TV I didn't even get the local channels.

If Sunday Ticket is God's gift to football fans why do we have to pay for it?

I pay $39.99 a month....you must have had one of the premium packages. Local channels are now included.

    Consider it a tithe.

I really enjoy the Cox Sports TV Channel and all the old LSU sports replays and LSU-related shows it has on it. If not for this cannel, I would probably have satellite.

As far as DVD's go, I would be interested in hearing what you find. When I went to the TAF Summer tour here in Houston they were playing a DVD that recaped all of the "BIG PLAYS" of the season. I asked the host if it was available to the public and he did not know. He did say that LSU uses it for recruiting. Is anyone else aware of this DVD and do you know where I can get a copy.

Regarding DirectTV and cable, I made the switch to Direct TV about 7 months ago and I love it! I subscribe to the sports package and probably get 3 - 4 x's more sports than I did with cable. As far as loosing a signal, I lost it twice and it was during heavy rain, I found the digital cable went out more than that. I was also able to retain my cable internet access pretty cheap.

The thing I look forward to most with Direct TV is the NFL Sunday ticket. Living in Houston all I see is the Houston Texans and the Cowthieves err I meant Cowboys. I can finally watch some Saints games!!!!!
