I was happy to see our defense play so well. We are going to need them to play well as our schedule is a nightmare.

    1. QB was a simple game plan. Did anyone expect anything else. In future games i think you will see us use the pass more. But les wanted to shorten the game as much as possible and we ran the ball well. Killed time and made our qb manage the game instead of win it.

2.) Offensive line played well for the most part. Some people dont like seeing the same plays over and over but i am a firm believer that if they cant stop a play then run it over and over and over. It breeds comfort and familiarity and that leads to good execution. Sometimes running the football just comes down to good execution and straight ahead running.

    3) Our special teams were for the most part really good. A little worried after that first xp miss but i chalk it up to first game jitters. Punting can be a weapon and it helped cause a key turnover and if consistent can help change field position.

4.) playmakers it is hard to explain playmakers but tyrone mathieu is one of them. As the season develops i think more and more of them will step up. Michael ford and Spencer ware really ran hard. Deangelo peterson looked good too. reid on defense and dline as a whole.

5.) I love to see drives that are done primarily on the ground. first down after first down etc has a way of demorilizing and wearing down defenses.

6.) Wide recievers are going to have to step it up a little. Beckham looked good and oregon db's were holding to prevent separation and it wasnt called. I am hoping as the season progresses that improves and both parts of our offense click. If it does we are going to be hard to beat.

7.)LB is an area i am a little concerned with size. We are quick but small. hopefully our dline being strong can protect them from pounding running teams.

It was a great win for our team and fans. I hope just a sign of things to come. Win or lose tiger fans it is going to be exciting. Enjoy the ride and LSU football season is here. I have a jump in my step and a twinkle in my eye when its football season.

    Random Observations:

    1. I like the way we rotate defense linemen in and out and they stay fresh. Why don't we rotate our offensive linemen as well? The starters mostly stayed out there for the whole game.

    2. Oregon fans booing injured opponents is about the worst sportsmanship I have ever witnessed. There is no excuse for this low-class behavior.

    3. I kept waiting for a "Blur offense" and I never saw it. They either changed their plan or they ain't as quick as they think they are.

4.Laduckfan is a weasel for not showing up to take his lumps after running his mouth all summer.

    5. I dislike the referees wearing black pajama bottoms instead of white football pants.

    6. Big-12 referees are far superior to SEC referees. I almost dread the start of SEC play.

    7. We need to find a kickoff kicker that can get the ball into the end zone. Kicking to the 15 is NOT going to cut it.

    8. We were told in the pre-season that the "punt-ugly" formation would be scrapped for the traditional single-blocking-back punt formation. But there it was. What's up?

this isnt them booing injuries. its their assumption players are faking to slow down the game. it began last year against tennessee then was blatant against cal.

every oregon game since their fans boo any defensive injury assuming its to slow down the game because it was effective. cal actually admitted it was part of the gameplan.

i never thought anything of it because they do it every week. i guess i can see how people who dont follow them or college football too closely would assume thats what theyre doing. but its a non-issue.

I know why they do it, but it changes nothing. They are still booing downed players. Oregon wasn't even running the "blur" offense, they were waiting for the plays to come in from the sidelines.

Wait until opponents start booing their injured players.

    No excuses.

I told people that we would run the ball 50 times and win the game, I missed on one of those.....

Exactly, but they should have noticed that we had no need to fake injuries last night. They weren't exactly wearing us out to the point of exhaustion, where a fake injury was needed.

if you understand why they are doing it it means nothing. you realize they arent booing a hurt player.

their fans are programmed to boo anytime a defensive player goes down. they do it every week on every downed player. its no big deal.

The Ducks need to get over thinking they are the fastest team in the country. I saw speed Saturday nite, but it wasn't Oregon.
