Pretty pumped about this hire. Canada is a top 20 OC in my opinion. Probably will see a few wrinkles next year due to the fact that is not the plays he calls but the motion and moving around the players will have to learn how to do. As far as playcalling, pretty simple stuff but its everything else that is supposed to confuse the defense that will allow the plays to work. Any thoughts on any of this or is anyone opposed to this hire?

I will assume this guy is 1/2 as good as Kiffin, but he has 1/10 the drama, so I believe we are far, far ahead. I want to note that this guy did a good job at NCState. The "Pack" lives in football, or make that recruiting, HELL. The best talent goes to the SEC and then UNC gets its pick, then poor old State gets a look. And he was putting up 400 plus a game, and exciting the fan base. I expect Pitt lives in the same quagmire, substitute Big Ten and PSU, but that is just speculation. Time will tell, but I think he is a pretty damn good hire.
I haven't seen any negative comments about Canada so far and I think everyone is good with this hire except the Pitt fans. Looks like he is the real deal and is probably the best that we could hope for at OC. I'm just glad it's not Kiffin... that dude is bad news.
The dudes on Sirius College Sports 84 were gushing over the Canada hire this morning, calling him the best possible choice, even including Kiffen, and that LSU is likely to be very very good for a long time. So who here was calling this hire an embarrassment?
Old topic, but still fun to debate when it comes up. All you have to do to realize who the true champion that year was is to look and see who the MacArthur Trophy was awarded to. (By the way, it was LSU)
